Privacy

The short version: this site has no accounts and no cookie banner because it collects nothing that identifies you. It counts visits in aggregate, and that is the extent of it.

What is stored on your device

One thing: your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser's local storage so the site does not flip back every visit. It is set only when you use the theme toggle, it never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data removes it.

Your build is not stored at all. The parts you pick live in the page URL, which is why you can share a build by copying the link — and why closing the tab without copying it loses the build.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it stores no identifier on your device and cannot follow you to other sites. What it reports back is aggregate — how many people visited, which pages, which country, roughly what device, and which site referred them.

Two events are also recorded: when someone clicks through to a retailer, and when someone shares a build. These record what was clicked or shared — the product and the retailer — not who did it.

Because none of this identifies you, there is no tracking to consent to and no cookie banner to dismiss.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which handles requests and keeps short-lived operational logs. Like any web host, those logs include the IP address a request came from — this is unavoidable in how the internet works, and it is used for delivering the site, security and diagnosing faults, nothing else.

Vercel processes this on the site's behalf, under its own security and retention terms. This site neither reads those logs for marketing purposes nor connects them to anything else.

When you click through to a retailer

Retailer links are the point at which you leave. Once you are on the retailer's site, you are subject to their privacy policy, not this one.

Where a link is an affiliate link, the retailer or their affiliate network may set a cookie on their own site to record that the referral came from here — that is how the commission gets attributed. This site cannot see that cookie and receives no personal information back from it. What it eventually sees is a count of referred sales, not who made them.

What this site does not do

There are no accounts, no sign-up, no mailing list, and no contact form. No advertising networks, no social media pixels, no cross-site tracking, no profiling, and no building a picture of you across visits. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers, because there is nothing to sell.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to how it is used. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

In practice there is very little to act on: this site holds no account, no name, no email address, and no identifier that ties a visit to a person. If you want to ask anyway, the address below reaches a real person.

Who is responsible, and how to get in touch

Sim Rig Config is run by one person in the UK, not a company. For anything on this page — including a request to remove something — write to hello@simrigconfig.com.

How the site makes money, and how its compatibility and pricing data is put together, is set out on the about and affiliate disclosure page.
